Story
So, what's the challenge? Simple! We will play four complete rounds of golf in just one day.... yes, that's right, one day!
What's the day I hear you ask..... well it's Sunday 29th August, 2021!
We'll start just after 5am in the morning for round 1, after that there's hopefully time for a coffee and bacon bap before we join our regular playing group, St Peter's Golf Society at 8.30 for round 2, after that maybe a cheeky beer and another butty of some kind before teeing off for round 3 at around 12.30, then hopefully in some kind of shape to get in the car and head up to La Moye Golf Club for round 4, teeing off at around 5pm!!!
Assuming that we've taken enough golf balls with us, we should finish some time between 8.30 and 9pm, having walked around 25km, having played around 800 shots between us, and having been on a golf course for around 16 hours of the day!
So, why I hear you ask........
The NSPCC is the leading children's charity fighting to end child abuse in the UK and Channel Islands. They help children who have been abused to rebuild their lives, protect those at risk, and find the best ways of preventing abuse from ever happening. Every child deserves the best possible chance to rebuild their life after abuse. That’s what they do. That's what drives their work. That’s why – as long as there’s abuse – they will fight for every childhood. And that's why all of us at de Gruchy are supporting NSPCC Jersey this year.
