Story
On the 12th of April 2013, my grandmother Usha Deshmukh passed away. My grandmother was a force of nature - she lived life to the fullest and never let anything get in her way.
She raised 4 incredible kids, including my mother, after my grandfather passed away at a young age - something that was definitely not an easy feat in the 80s in India. Her positivity, ambition, and tenacity have served as a constant inspiration my whole life.
To commemorate the 10th anniversary of her passing, I will be climbing Kilimanjaro and raising money for Age UK. They are a national charity dedicated to helping everyone make the most of later life. Ageing is not an illness, but it can be challenging.
Age UK helps more than 7 million people every year, providing companionship, advice, and support for older people who need it most.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast, and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them or send unwanted emails.
