Story
I proudly serve on the board of directors for Girl Scouts San Diego, where we are championing female ambition!
Being the mother of a Gold Award Girl Scout Roshni Kakaiya, is one of the greatest honors of my life. Having been a Girl Guide in Kenya made me a natural member of this community! I have also supported the volunteers by doing two presentations every year for the last 14 years. Encouraging emotional and brain health of our girls, volunteers and staff is my service to my Girl Scouting family:)
I am very passionate about the work this organization does. GSSD provides dynamic leadership development programs for 23,000 girls ages 5-17 across the region. Girl Scouts promise to make the world a better place, and I can tell you myself that these remarkable young women are doing just that! 45% of our girl members live in households that struggle with economic security – yet these powerful opportunities are available to ALL girls, regardless of their ability to pay. Girl Scouts is a path to a brighter future for each of them. Having served the Girl Scout family since Roshni was 5, I can share first hand the difference that Girl Scouting made in our family.
