Story
It's been an emotionally devastating week since we woke up to the tragic news of the earthquakes in Turkiye and Northern Syria. Since the early hours of this morning, our Syria-Turkey teams initially got their families to safety and immediately started on the emergency response.
Action for Humanity (AFH) has lost three staff members and their families- who were sadly killed with their families- news trickled out slowly as people were trying to make sense of what's happened. Some of the staff are still missing family members under the rubble- but are continuing efforts to save lives despite this. The death toll is rising- its now around 12,000.
For so many people..especially inside Syria- this is simply another great test that they're enduring after losing homes/loved ones in the conflict and the freezing weather conditions that started last week.
The charity's offices for Turkiye and Syria operations are based in Gaziantep- the epicentre of both the earthquakes.
Families are exposed to the elements- and some have been out in the cold for days.
Being in such close proximity has meant the AFH team have been able to mobilise aid almost immediately- and have been assisting survivors since 9am Monday morning.
Please help us continue rescue efforts and directly assist survivors.
I work for Cell Signaling Technology (CST) and they are kindly matching donations that CST employees contribute from themselves or collected donations, up to the value of 25K. So if we raise 25K together, they'll add 25K bringing the total amount to 50K! This will go a long way to help the earthquake victims survive so please kindly donate and share this page with your friends and family.
