Story
Hellooo! Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. Across the 4 months of June - September I am going to be doing 4 open water swims. The 4 'dips' will be outside in 4 different parts of Scotland and each will be a bit of a different challenge. I have posted more details of each swim on this page below so do have a wee scroll!
The 4 swims will be:
- Kessock Ferry Swim 1.2k (25th June)
- Go Swim Loch Tay 1.5k BUTTERFLY (20th August)
- Go Swim Loch Lomond 5k (3rd September)
- Go Swim Loch Morlich 10k - The official marathon swim distance (17th September)
(I'm not making it easy lol)
I am hoping to raise funds for Alzheimer Scotland - a charity dedicated to supporting those living with or affected by dementia and also researching dementia treatment and cures. By 2025, it is estimated 1 million people will be living with the condition in the UK and I'm sure many of us have people we love who have been affected by it. This charity aims to support so many of these people and really is doing good work.
My gran is one of these people living with dementia, a truly wonderful woman who is the inspiration for the challenge.
Any donations, even wee ones, would be soooo appreciated, they will all go straight to the charity (all event entry fees are self funded), or if you're not in a position to donate even a share of my page to raise awareness would be fab too!
For a bit more information this is a link to the charity's website: www.alzscot.org/
Thank you!!!
Kirstin :)
