Story
I'm sure most of you will know Dino's story, but in case you don't, then it is safe to say that without the Royal Marsden hospitals in both Chelsea and Sutton, Dino wouldn't be here today. He is an incredible and wonderful husband, daddy, son, brother and so much more to very many people. Our family and friends celebrate Dino and his painful journey, with unlimited thanks to both of these hospitals.
A tough 11 month cancer battle in 2010 was fought mainly at the Royal Marsden in Sutton, with the fantastic support and professionalism of their amazing staff. Then, in September 2015 the skill and expertise of the surgeons at the Royal Marsden in Chelsea meant a benign tumour (the size of a football!) was successfully removed from Dino's stomach. We owe our deepest thanks to all the staff, in particular to the nurses for their tireless care and help. Lisa too was incredibly well cared for as she struggled through the trauma with Dino. The care from the staff was second to none and we are forever indebted to them all.
We are undertaking this walk as a way of saying thank you and giving something back. We hope that you feel you can donate to this worthy cause. Every penny counts and will help to benefit so many other people. Thank you so much for your support.
We are sure you will all know someone who has been effected by cancer. As traumatic and soul destroying as this is, it is hospitals like the Royal Marsden that provide hope, support and, for the lucky ones, an extension of life.
