The “Dine2DonateNW” community event is a fundraiser for The Trussell Trust (http://www.trusselltrust.org/), a national network of food banks. They provide an essential service that supports a growing number communities and members of those communities that would otherwise go hungry, were it not for the food boxes they receive from the Trussell Trust. The Trussell Trust relies on the support of the local communities to their food banks for sourcing food and fundraising.

The event itself will run from 9th - 13th February and extend across the West Hampstead and Finchley Road areas (to which two food banks as illustrated on the map picture are most local - Kilburn and Chalk Farm). Restaurants participating will be making an amazing contribution to their local community. They will be presenting an opportunity for diners taking up the event offer (by booking ahead or with an event flyer in hand) - to not only enjoy a great meal out but feel great knowing they will be making a contribution to such a meaningful cause (with a percentage of food sales going to the fundraiser).

The inspiration behind the event is my interest in health and well-being and a drive to create a community project. I’ve always enjoyed food and like eating out. Whilst bouncing ideas around with an uncle of mine he came up with the idea of doing a restaurant fundraiser. It immediately grabbed me as a great idea with food playing into health and well-being in such a big way (going hungry can only lead to health issues) and here we are!
