Dimi's 2015 Challenges
Fundraising for Evelina London Children's Charity
Fundraising for Evelina London Children's Charity
As many of you will know, every year I do some challenges to encourage me to stay fit but also to raise money for The Evelina Childrens Hospital. This is the hospital my daughter, Eva, has attended since she was diagnosed with an irreversible heart condition at the age of 2. They said they would aim to hold off fitting the pacemaker which basically resolves the issue until Eva was 10 - because she is doing so well, we have gone a bit past that date but continue to monitor her regularly.
My challenges for 2015 are quite daunting:
- Sunday 15 February: The Kentish Killer, a 70 miles bike ride in the undulating hills of Kent
- Sunday 14 June: The Staffordshire Ironman 70.3, comprising a 1.2 m swim, a 56 miles bike ride and a 13.1m run (hence the 70.3m total)
- Sunday 2nd August: The Prudential London-Surrey 100 bike ride (entry kindly provided by The Evelina Childrens Hospital)- Sunday 20 September: The Richmond Duathlon, which is 10km run, 40km bike ride, 5 km run
and finally a mere 6 days later
- Saturday 26 September: The Hever Sprint Plus Triathlon, which is 800m swim, 40km bike ride and 8km run (a bit short of Olympic distance, but that is on the Sunday and I am going to see Scotland in the Rugby World Cup that day !)
As some of my mates would say, my mid life crisis is hitting new heights !
Please give generously - no amount is too small and equally no amount is too large.
Many thanks for your support - not only financially but the for the many words of support I receive.
