In September 2019, DCU announced a three-year partnership with Barretstown Childrens Charity to support Barretstown's work with children and their families living with serious illness.

Story

DCUs mission is to transform lives and societies. This year in particular , we are more committed than ever to engaging with our communities and making a positive contribution. This ethos led to DCU signing a three-year Charity Partnership with Barretstown in September 2019, the first such agreement between an Irish university and a charitable organisation. As a university community we are honoured to be able to help Barretstown transform the lives of children and families affected by serious illness. The partnership means DCU staff and students can support Barretstown through a range of volunteering and fundraising opportunities . Already, the DCU community has raised thousands of euro in support of this remarkable charity, and much more is to come over the next three years.
