Story

Recently it feels like we have lost so many loved and wonderful people to so many cruel illnesses.

To coincide with my retirement, I chose to challenge myself, whilst giving a little back to those organisation that are trying to ease the pain and suffering of those who have to suffer the illnesses themselves as well as those who are left behind.

And so the time has come to complete the Marathon des Sables, otherwise known as the toughest foot race on earth!   This is effectively 6 days of running over 156 miles across the unforgiving Sahara Desert, carrying what I need to survive on my back for that time.    Pretty gruelling, pretty difficult, and many don't finish it. I'm going to give it my best! The race starts on 23 April.

I'm running in memory of my mother who sadly passed away last year from deteriorating age-related illnesses but she also suffered from dementia. It still hurts to think she isn't here. Dementia and such related illnesses have a devastating impact on so many individuals and their families so I will be raising funds for….

Please see below my fund-raising link should you wish to donate on this occasion. Any amount - small or large will be graciously received and appreciated.
