Story
2022 has been without doubt one of the craziest years in my entire life, a new job a new city, plenty failiures and plenty more learnings.
It's been a year of new routines, new habits and new hobbies, and that's why I want to finish the year off by setting myself 2 new goals:
1. I am challenging myself to complete my first half marathon under 2 hours
2. I want to surprise my grandmother this Christmas by setting up my first fundraiser to support the research of Lupus as a tribute to her outstanding bravery as she has been fighting this mystery disease throughout her whole life
I have chosen to support this cause as a tribute to the outstanding bravery of my wonderful grandmother who has been fighting Lupus during her whole life.
Lupus is a disease in which the immune system goes 'wrong' and becomes overactive. It can affect any organ of the body. Because the symptoms can be so diverse, including for example, fatigue, rashes, allergies, depression and kidne y failure it is called the 'great mimic' and can often be misdiagnosed. I invite you all to further investigate Lupus.
All ages and sexes can be affected, but the most common are young females, especially those of African and Asian ancestry, the peak ages being between 18 and 45. It is believed that 5 million people throughout the world have lupus.
Having said this, it would mean the absolute world if you supported me in reaching both my goals by donating and sharing this post to as many people as possible!
This one is for you Grandma ❤ 💪
