Story
Hello! Thank you for visiting and donating... I'm about to embark on a 100/100 spinning challenge. That's 100 Digme spin classes across 100 days, beginning 5th June.
I'm doing this to raise money for the Movember Foundation which is dedicated to changing the face of men's health. According to Movember's research, women live 6 years longer than men for reasons that are largely preventable - but men don't talk or share like women do, and that's the killer.
A man very near and dear to me went for a men's health check last year - honestly, not something I would expect of him. He's stubborn, never takes a sick day and just 'gets on with it' as they say. But thankfully somebody got in his ear and suggested a check up. As a result he has found out that he has a form of Leukemia. They have caught it early enough that he can now be monitored and treated to ensure that he lives a pretty normal and healthy life. It takes my breath away to think what may have happened if he had put his symptoms down to just 'getting on a bit' or 'just a bad cold' for a little while longer.
I hope that my 100/100 challenge raises a little awareness and encourages at least one man to go for a mens health check regularly. Like my Dad did.
