Story

COMPLETED THE WALK IN 4 HOURS
ACHING AND STIFF NOW BUT VERY HAPPY

Thanks for visiting my Moon Walk fundraising page

Only 30 hours or so left before I set off on the Moonlight Walk for St Catherine's Hospice
I have taken it easy this week and not done any walking at all as I am so scared of an injury which would stop me completing the walk.

I desperately want to do this walk as I have been absolutely inspired by all the people who have pledged money to support the cause.
You just don't realise how many people around you have had a close friend or family member who has needed respite care, pain management or terminal care at St Catherine's or a hospice near them. Other people have said they just wished that their loved ones could have spent their last days at this very, very special place.

As I have said before it is sad that there are not more places like this and it seems unfair that they need to rely on donations to survive. But it is this that creates the magic. All the money donated is used to give the care and comfort needed that cannot be provided by the NHS.

Your donation will make a difference to somebody at a time when they need it most.

When I do my walk I will be thinking about all the people close to me who have needed the hospice.

Firstly I will be thinking about all my family who were together at St Catherine's when my sister in law Jenny died. The comfort offered helped us through a very difficult time and I was grateful for the dignity she was given during her final days.

I will also be thinking about Janice Crossley, my colleague, who was too young to be so cruelly taken.
Sheila Salmon's mum who also spent her last days here, I will remember her patience in her garden with a toddler Kerri.
Adele's dad, who is a current visitor, and I wish him and his family strength and love

..........they will be my inspiration to keep going.

I am sure there are others you know and I hope you will all take a moment to remember them on Saturday night before you go to sleep

Thank you all so much for your support

Tonight I had another £40.00 pledged so that means that all together I have now been promised £381.00 and I will make sure I reach £400 now even if I put the extra in myself

You personally have helped me reach such a high total.... and this really will make a difference to St Catherines

I see this walk now as an absolute honour not the effort it appeared when I first thought about registering
After talking to so many people about the hospice I appreciate that a walk with friends is such a joy in comparison with the battles fought at St Catherines

Bless each and every one of you for the money you have given me..... it will be well spent

Love
