Story
When the new, state of the art Cancer Centre at Guy’s Hospital opened its doors in September 2016 I was completely oblivious of it’s existence - 14 months later I was anything but.
As a patient of the Centre I consider myself a very lucky one having had a period of just 4 days between cancer confirmation and effective cure whilst still benefitting from regular visits to the Centre as part of my post-op care and surveillance.
Almost two years on, I now know a bit more about its uniqueness as a facility which houses both the treatment and research of most cancers under one roof - something which is not the norm.
With a motley crew of fellow patients, doctors, staff members, friends & family assembled we’ll be setting off from Liege on September 19th and looking to chase down a combined fundraising target of £150,000 as we navigate our way back to London on two wheels.
With this is in mind I’d kindly encourage you to give as generously as you can - I can assure you that our target isn’t nearly as high as some of the hills we’re going to be struggling up!
All money raised (cost of trip & support crew funded personally by riders) will be used to fund two clinical research fellows based at Guy’s Cancer, details of which can be found on the main Guy’s Cancer Tour - Liege to London page (see further below).
