Story
Yes, I know I said NEVER AGAIN! after the London Marathon last year...but the painful memories have faded sufficiently enough for me to agree to do the whole thing again. This time in Edinburgh on the 31st May 2009.
I am running for the Terrence Higgins Trust who, whilst working incredibly hard to support those whose lives are affected by HIV, are also committed to raising awareness and combating many of the preconceptions that are associated with HIV and indeed faced daily by many of those infected with it. I have seen the hard work they carry out first hand and the determination that the charity has to educate others about HIV is crucial to its prevention and truly they are making a real difference and saving lives. Any money I raise will be donated to THT through the Steve Munro Red Ribbon Fund in memory of my cousin who worked for and was extremely dedicated to THT.
To this end I would really appreciate any donations you are able to make to help the THT in their work and donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Terrence Higgins Trust gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
I am not anticipating my performance resulting in my winning the BBC Sports Personality of the year award, so am taking the opportunity now to say a very big 'Thank You'.
