Story

On 12th June, along with my Sister and Niece, I ran the Morecambe 10k race - my first time running competetively since the inter-school cross-country 40 years ago!

My Niece Laura managed a great time of 01:09:21, and although my sister and I came in almost at the back, we still managed to achieve a personal best time of 01:16:51 - not TOO bad for a couple of old birds!! 😉

I used the opportunity to raise some money for a good cause, because there's a young lady in my class at the school where I work, who genuinely inspires me - Despite having progressively lost most of her abilities to Batten Disease, she STILL tries her best and always seems to find a way to see the funny side of life! - She has managed to far exceed all expectations, probably in part due to groundbreaking treatment, which couldn't have happened without support from the BDFA. So I'm dedicating my efforts to them for that special girl, Matilda, who makes me want to keep trying to do better..!
