Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Last year my husband Paul & I trained hard for the Windermere Open Water swim which got cancelled due to poor water quality so we imediately deferred entry to 2011- but that was before Paul got diagnosed with a rare cancer. This year's event is on 18th June & choosing a charity to support is easy, Paul will be part way through his treatments and unable to swim. So please support me in raising lots of money for Cancer Research UK.
I will be swimming 1 mile in Lake Windermere at 12.30pm on Saturday 18th June, the water temperature is expected to be 15*c but knowing you are supporting me will get me to the finish even if my toes do freeze!
Cancer is on the increase, 1 in 3 people will be diagnosed with cancer at some point in their lifetime and our local Oncology Hospital is seeing 70,000 new patients a year. If you know someone affected, you will already know the great work cancer charities do in treating, caring and supporting patients and their families. Money donated today will make a difference in the care of someone dear to you in the future.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now, with your help I could even hit a four figure sum - how fantastic that would be!
Thank you and do come back to my site to find out how I'm doing, also pass it on to your friends ! Diane x
