Hi Everyone,

I still cannot believe I am doing this but, I could not be more excited to share my news with you all. 

I am going to run in the 40th Anniversary, 2020 London Marathon! I could barely run one mile back in May, so this is a massive achievment for me, one that I am determined to complete.

As most of you will know, I am very passionate about my role as a Police Officer, a role I have thoroughly enjoyed for over 17 years. 

I am currently a Community Officer in an area that I grew up in, went to school in, worked in and brought my family up in. 

I am able to see the decline in the area and the impact drug dealing, drug use, anti-social behaviour and the wider issues that go hand in hand with this type of crime, such as, Violence, Gang culture, Weapons, child exploitation.

This also affects Local Businesses, Community parks, Schools & other vital services. Unfortunately Crime will have an impact in everyone's life, at some point. 

As a Community Officer, Information from Members of the Public is vital in assisting me, in my role, to get into the Heart of the community and tackle the offenders, who make ordinary, hard working members of the publics lives sometimes unbearable. 

Far too many members of the public are afraid to speak up, so will turn a blind eye, for fear of reprisals. 

This is where CrimeStoppers, independent charity comes in. Contacting CrimeStoppers allows people to speak up 100% anonymously, to have a voice and to stay safe in the community that they are proud of, live in and work in. The information is passed on to the Police and acted upon, bringing fantastic results.  

I am excited and extremely proud to have been accepted on to the CrimeStoppers Marathon team, to support them and I am determined I will get around the 26.2 mile route with the support of two of my colleagues.

I am hoping to raise £1750, however I hope to raise over this target by the time of the race!
