Story
Hello,
Please see the photos above of Moose, who I just met on 9/22/2021. Of the surviving 17 of 20 horses recently rescued, he may be one who needs our help the most. He is a big beautiful and shy boy. One of his handlers, Jamie, demonstrates that he is capable of real connection. He needs some medical help (mouth and hoof care specifically, which is so important to equine health). If this appeals to you, please donate to help him out. Thank you!
Each of the 17 recently rescued horses has unique needs, which have been assessed and are being provided for by the MSSPA. There was a little something about Moose that really made me want to advocate for him, and therefore put forth this appeal. Thank you.
Every year, the Maine State Society for the Protection of Animals rehabilitates and rehomes dozens of formerly abused and neglected horses. 2021 became a year like no other when 20 horses removed by the state were brought to the shelter in a single day. Everyone at MSSPA was up for this challenge, but it is a challenge indeed! Many of these horses need significant veterinary care, farrier work, and refeeding. In addition to the Neglected 20, there were 27 horses already in the River Road shelter and more new arrivals since. Will you join up with me and other horse lovers to ride to the rescue of this big herd? My goal is to raise $1,000 toward the campaign goal of $21,000 in 2021!
