Event: Rob Burrow Leeds Marathon 2023, on 14 May 2023
Rob Burrow was an inspiration. Despite facing his own challenges, he was devoted to raising awareness and funds to help people living with MND in Leeds and their loved ones, until the end.

Story

20 years ago I ran my first marathon in London with my husband Chris, for cancer charities in memory of my dad. I was proud to complete it & know he would but I always said I would never do a marathon again.

After seeing Rob Burrow , his wife Lindsay, family & many other families being so courageous & strong with their fight with MND & watching Kevin Sinfield complete Ultramarathons for his mate, it inspired me to do it again!

So 20 years on & 20 years older, I am mad enough to be running the Leeds marathon on my birthday 🥳 & 3 three peaks 2 weeks after in aid of Leeds Hospitals Charity.

It has been a tough balance trying to fit the miles in & building distance since December in between working, having two sporty kids & running in all weather conditions(see pics of rain, snow & freezing temps & blistering temps) but I am nearly there !

If you want to help me cross the line & celebrate my birthday in style, please donate the cost of a birthday drink for me 🍺 🍹🥳
