Story
On Saturday 28th June 2014 I am walking a 50k stretch of the Grand Union Canal from Watford to Bletchley (that's about 31 miles). This is going to be another major challenge for me as the last time I did a similar distance was way back in 2006 when I ran the London Marathon and was just a few years younger........only a few!!!
Mum sadly past away in November 2011 after many years of battling with Alzheimers. It is a horrible soul destroying disease and the sad thing is like many of these illnesses there is never a happy ending. Unfortunately you just have to watch helplessly while your closest and dearest loved ones deteriorate in front of your own eyes and there is absolutely nothing you can do to stop it.
I am doing this challenge in memory of my lovely mum whom will never ever be forgotten and to help raise funds for the fantastic research that the Alzheimers Society continue to do. They are starting to see light at the end of the tunnel but it is still going to be years before hopefully there is a cure for this awful illness.
It would be most appreciated and I would be so grateful if you would please support me in this venture by sponsoring me and pledging a donation however big or small....... Please believe me when I say it would be most gratefully received. :-)
Thank you so much for your support!
Luv Diane xx
