Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge
Campaign by Bury Hospice (RCN 1136843)
Bury Hospice is organising a trek challenge across the infamous Yorkshire three peaks on Saturday 3rd September 2022.

Story

Hi everyone,

Last year, you may remember I ran the Bury 10K and raised over £1200 for Bury Hospice. This year I am competing in the Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge on Saturday 3rd September and would be extremely grateful for your support once again. Every penny raised goes directly towards improving the lives of people in Bury when they need it most.

The Hospice is a fantastic organisation and I am so proud to be a one of their Trustees. It costs £3.5 million per year to run Bury Hospice and all its services, which breaks down to around £9,500 per day. We receive just 23% statutory funding from the CCG/NHS, which leaves us with more than 77% of our running costs to fundraise to bridge the funding gap.  Every penny raised counts!

Taking place on Saturday 3rd September, Bury Hospice’s 3 Peaks challenge is a circular route of approximately 24 miles in length with an elevation gain of over 1000m.

Starting and finishing in Horton-in Ribblesdale, I will climb the summits of Pen-y-Ghent (694m), Whernside (736m) and Ingleborough (723m). The walk will start around 6.45am and I am aiming to complete it within 8.5hrs.

Thank you in advance for your support.
