Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
For most of my life, my step father has battled cancer. After 15 years, his illness is terminal and is controlled with fortnightly chemotherapy treatments. Cancer is devastating to the individual, but also heart breaking for the whole family. It makes you feel angry. It makes you question your faith- why did we deserve this? Why did this happen to us?
A year ago, my friend and colleague was informed that her two year old son gasped brain cancer. Two years old. Think about that for a second. The news made me feel instantly angry. What had this gorgeous, beautiful, innocent baby done to deserve this terrible illness? The answer is, he didn't deserve it. He had done nothing wrong. I have witnessed how devastating cancer is for an adult to endure, and how it takes over everyone's lives. I can not imagine how a two year old would begin to cope.
I wanted to do something. But with cancer, there isn't really much you can do to help. I knew my dad and step mother wanted to challenge themselves to cycle from manchester to Rome and so I approached them to see if they would consider helping me to raise money for Children with Cancer UK. They were more than willing and quickly set about raising the initial £500 we wanted to raise.
This amount was quickly surpassed, and has now doubled! We have set a new goal of £2000. I would like to thank you for your generosity, and would like to urge you, if you haven't already to donate whatever you can- every donations really does make a difference.
Thank you,

On the 1st of May 2016 I am attempting to cycle over 2,000 miles from Manchester Cathedral UK to The Vatican City Italy, continuing over the Apennine Mountains to the oldest City in Italy, Chieti- taking no longer than 2 months to raise much needed funds for Children with Cancer Uk.
I have committed to raise a minimum of £500 pounds and train for the next 25 weeks, 3-4 days/nights a week culminating, in the last 4 weeks of covering 150 miles a week leading up to the challenge of 80-90 miles a day for 2 solid months (with the odd day off for good behaviour) and 9 hours in the saddle a day.
I am asking kindly if you will help me achieve and exceed my goal of £500 for the Children who will benefit from your donations.
Brain tumours kill more children than any other form of cancer. Some childhood brain tumours are untreatable and leave few, if any, survivors. Despite the devistation caused by childhood brain tumours, research is seriously underfunded.
£10 can help fund research to find out more about childhood brain tumours
£50 can help fund pioneering brain tumour research so that every child has a chance to be saved.
Children need intensive treatments such as surgery, chemotherapy and/or radiotherapy. These treatments can be extremely harmful on developing brains and can cause serious disabilities.
We urgently need to fund more research to improve our understanding of childhood brain tumours, find less damaging treatments and save more young lives.
I have pledged to raise a minimum of £500 but would love to surpass this and as friends, colleagues and supporters, I would be very grateful if you could donate any amount, no matter how small it may seem.
