Story
At the end of March 2009 I will be running in the Marathon des Sables. I will be raising money for St. Ann's Hospice in Manchester.
The Marathon des Sables (MDS) is a 243km extreme race across the Sahara desert. The equivalent of 6 marathons in 6 days in temperatures of up to 120 degrees. The terrain is rough, uneven, stoney ground and 20% of the distance is covered on sand dunes. It is a self sufficient race and you have to carry everything you need apart from water. It is commonly dubbed as 'the toughest footrace on earth'.
In training for this event I shall be participating in several smaller events including the High Peak 40 mile challenge and the Round Rotherham 50 mile challenge.
Please support me in this event and help St. Ann's Hospice.
