With the fabulous help of our two Coltness High School captains (Daniel and Scott) I am lucky enough to have a been given a place to run the London marathon in April 2018 for The National Autistic Society. I am extremely grateful to the charity for this offer. We intend to raise money through many school activities.
This JustGiving page (and its £500 target) has been set up as just one part of our large fundraising plan. This page is to allow people from outside the school to easily make a donation to our marathon project. Any money you can donate will be very much appreciated. The amount raised from this page will be added to all the money raised from the project's school activities in session 2017/2018. The combined total will form our total donation to the National Autistic Society.
I have chosen the National Autistic Society for personal and professional reasons. First, I have a 9 year old niece who has been diagnosed with autism. Second, as a school community we have several pupils who have been diagnosed also. I am, therefore, extremely keen to show encouragement and support to these pupils while at the same time raise awareness of autism. Therefore, as a school community this is a relevant and worthwhile cause.
The National Autistic Society is the leading UK charity for autistic people (including those with Asperger syndrome) and their families. The charity provides information, support and a range of vital services. The money raised will help the charity to continue its fabulous work and its campaign for a better world for autistic people. Your contribution will be very much appreciated.
The running total on this JustGiving page will provide information on the money being raised towards its £500 target total. In addition, the 'update' section of this page and the school website/twitter account will in turn provide information on the many school-based fundraising projects that will take place throughout session 2017/2018.
Finally, as well as making a donation on this page if you wish to help out in any other way please don't hesitate to contact the school.
Thank-you for taking the time to visit this page,
Derek Johnston.
