Story
Alzheimer’s Society is transforming the landscape of dementia forever.Until the day we find a cure, we will create a society where those affected by dementia are supported and accepted, able to live in their community without fear or prejudice.
Jenny was diagnosed with Alzheimers and PCA in 2006 at age 55, and probably suffered before this. A talented lady who played the piano, taught swimming and became a phlebotomist. A mother of 3 children with her whole life in front of her.
She gradually deteriorated in a number of ways and sadly had to be cared for away from home. Jenny passed away in 2016, a much loved lady and friend to all she knew.
A life that ended much too young, but never forgotten.

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.
