Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I've been selected to take part in the Queen’s Baton Relay for the Commonwealth Games. Thanks to my brother Alan for the nomination. Seems like I met all the criteria.
Criteria for choosing official Batonbearers looked for people who are willing to take on a challenge and have their own unique and inspiring story. These included making a meaningful contribution to sport, education, the arts, culture, or charity, being a figure of inspiration that positively challenges others to achieve their best or have taken on a challenge or cause and made a positive impact within their community.
From participating in and supporting local films to taking part in mass participation and art events, also being a volunteer performer at Kynren, a keen sportsman in several sports. I've raised quite an amount for charity and am a member of the charity costume groups The North East Avengers and North East Legion. Probably one of the deciding factors was that I have completed every Great North Run and raised money for St. Oswald’s Hospice.
So having been chosen it seemed like an ideal opportunity to raise some more funds for the hospice. Therefore, I have set up this JustGiving page to try and raise as much as I can. Please feel free to share the link to the page
My section of the relay is on Friday 15th July, and will start at 16:42 from 674 Durham Rd, Low Fell, Gateshead NE9 6JA, UK and will finish at 599 Durham Rd, Low Fell, Gateshead NE9 5HA, UK. Come along to support, if you’re free, but please don't forget to donate.
Thanks,
Den.
