Story

Denise Anne Thomas was born 9th June 1954 in Tottenham. A true Londoner, Denise was the life and sole of every party. A wonderful mother and nanny, a loving daughter and sister and much loved wife. She was a caring friend and would honestly do anything for anyone. All her working life she worked for Barclays Bank and gained many friends along the way.

Denise had two daughters and went on to marry the love of her life Martin Thomas on 4th September 2015. She was a lover of nature, photography and an amazing seamstress.

Denise was diagnosed with breast cancer at the beginning of 2021, having gone through an operation and radiotherapy we thought her battle was over, but unfortunately it had only just begun. She was then diagnosed with bowel cancer and upon surgery, secondary cancer was also found in her liver. Having recovered from bowel surgery Denise started Chemotherapy which unfortunately ended up in a paralysing stroke and five days later a massive cardiac arrest. She passed on Friday 27th August 2021 at the age of 67. She did get to see her daughters wedding via video link from her hospital bed, but unfortunately passed two days later.

She was the strongest, bravest person and we’re devastated that her battle has ended this way. Poole hospital were amazing with her care and it only feels right to support them through our tribute to an amazing women.

On her funeral, on Tuesday 14th September 2021 at Harbour View, we remember her and the triumphs of her life and celebrate the amazing person she was. Until we meet again.
