Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.Over 700,000 people in the UK have some form of dementia - that's enough to fill every premiership league football stand in the UK. More than half of these people have Alzheimer's disease .Dementia affects millions of families as 1 in 3 older people will end their life with a form of dementia.

I have personal experience of dementia because my dear Mum is suffering from Alzheimer's disease. This is a dreadful illness which is devastating not only for the sufferer but also for the whole family.As the illness progresses you can see the person you know and love gradually disappearing. It is heatrbreaking.

The Alzheimer's Society is therefore a charity close to my heart and I shall be raising money for this charity by participating in the Adidas 5K Women's Challenge on Sunday 7th September 2008 in Hyde Park, London.
