I am so excited to be running in this year's Mercedes Marathon Relay as a BellRunner.  I get to combine two of my favorite things - the Bell Center and running to support the Bell Center.  As a member of  the Service Guild,  I have the incredible opportunity to volunteer each week at the Bell Center. It is amazing to see firsthand the impact the Bell Center has on not only the children who attend, but also their  families.   The staff at the Bell Center help these children to achieve goals that many families thought might not be possible - I got to watch as one child in my class learned to walk and on the final day of the fall  semester walked all the way from the class to meet his mom in the lobby.  I also got to celebrate milestones of drinking from a cup with a straw, learning to communicate through non-verbal signs and playing ball with new friends.  I have absolutely loved my time volunteering at the Bell Center! Our relay teams goal is $100 per mile.  No donation is too little, and we appreciate your support!

The Bell Center is dedicated to maximizing the potential of children from birth to three years of age who are at risk for developmental delay.The staff of The Bell Center begins the work of maximizing a childs potential as soon as the child is evaluated. This evaluation assesses a childs strengths and weaknesses across five developmental domains: gross motor, fine motor, expressive and receptive language, cognition and emotional/social. From this assessment, each member of the childs transdisciplinary team develops goals in each area specific to that child.The Bell Center follows a transdisciplinary approach to providing early intervention services. This allows all areas of the childs development to be targeted every time they are at The Bell Center. Through this frequent targeting of developmental goals comes success as goals are achieved. As one goal is mastered, the next appropriate goal is is targeted, ensuring that the child is always striving to maximize their potential.
