Story
Dear All,
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As many of you know I'm running the London Marathon this year.I have always wanted to run the Marathon and it dawned on me that now well into my mid 40's I'd better crack on with it! My brother Michael finally inspired me to sign up. We went down to cheer him on in 2011 and was blown away by the atmosphere. Watching 30, 000 fundraising runners pacing through the streets of London being cheered on every step of the way by strangers was a very memorable and moving experience. London turns into an ocean of goodness and I wanted to know what it was like to be the other side of the cordons!
So, aided by my motivational coach Tara, the training began last autumn and over the last few months I have been dragging myself out to run through rain, wind, and snow. It has been brilliant and I am up to 18 miles now. Turns out that I am already in better shape than Mo Farah who is not yet ready for the full marathon and will be ducking out half way at Canary Wharf!
I am running for the National Deaf Childrens Society because I appreciate their work in promoting deaf awareness amongst staff in schools and supporting families with deaf children. I feel so grateful that Tara has not been held back at school by her hearing impairment and would like that to be the case for all deaf children.
If you would like to support me with sponsorship then that would be the icing on the cake for me. Not only will it help me reach my target but it will help me on the day knowing you are all behind me.
THANKYOU!
