My Story
In 2014, Lee and I had to make a decision no parent should have to, ending a much wanted pregnancy. This came as such a shock, what do you do with the news that your baby may not grow to full term?
ARC were there to guide us in accessing non clinical support and putting other parents in touch with each other in a non pressured online environment. This was important for me to reach out to others going through the same thing.
All donations made by you will ensure that future parents will continue to have access to a range of support and information services including:
-a national helpline run by trained staff: 0845 077 2290 or 0207 713 7486 via mobile
-a telephone support network of trained volunteers
- a website, which includes a moderated forum where parents can support and talk to one another
- a range of literature for parents, families, and the health professionals caring for them
- ARC also informs policy and represents the views of its members to the Government, the NHS and the media.
Each year, over 20,000 expectant parents a year are told that their baby may have a genetic or structural condition. ARC is the only national charity to provide non-directive information and support to parents, whatever decision is made about the future of the pregnancy.
