Story

Andy and I are running our first ever (and quite possibly my last) half marathon!   We want to raise money for the Hospice to say thank you for the care and support they gave to my Mum and our close friend Pauline in their last days battling cancer.  The care they gave was second to none and without them, my Mum would never have been able to spend her last days with her family in her own home.

They offer so much more than just a hospital bed.   Their day-care and therapies get patients out of their homes and inter-acting with other people, learning and enjoying new crafts and making friends.  This was vital to Mum as she would have been housebound apart from the days when we could take her out in the wheelchair.   Once mum had passed, the support was still there for us as a family - offering counselling if we needed it.

This is a HUGE challenge for us but we wanted to give something back to say thank you for all the support and fantastic care the Hospice gave to us. So, if you can, please donate (even if it's just £1)  - it will go some way to supporting another family through a very sad and often traumatic time.

We've never run this distance before - I have only been running for 15 months and Andy's just started.  Please come along and cheer (or push) us along to the finish line!
