Story
Last year, a family friend and his partner went to hospital to have their baby, but devastatingly never got to bring her home. Ruby passed away at just 9 days old.
Dylan and Vikki appear to have some unearthly ability to find incredible strength to make sure that good comes from their tragedy.
They, along with family and friends are doing a ton of events to raise as much money as they can for the Neonatal unit at the LGI who did everything they could for Ruby.
I bumped into Dylan whilst he was on lap 2 (!) of the Leeds 10k this weekend. Lap 1 he did in a racing wheelchair and lap 2 was on foot. I'd been stood down from marshalling duties and ran the last 3k with Dylan and it felt brilliant to offer a bit of support on that last leg of the race. I'd challenge anyone to not be touched by their strength and courage.
So...(get to the point Denise!) on 22nd July I'm taking part in a 24hr relay race with a fellow Chapel Allerton Runner, It'll be just the two of us running relay laps round a 10k course for 24 hours and I am dedicating it to Ruby.
It would be amazing if you could sponsor me! For the memory of little Ruby and for all the good things that the Leeds Neonatal unit do for very poorly babies.
Any amount is appreciated.
Thank you xx
