Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Six years have passed since I faced my last trekking challenge on the Great Wall of China, raising over £3,000 for UK Cancer Research. This time around, I shall be donning my yashmak, and possibly a bullet proof vest, to tackle the Wadis of Jordan. I notice that one of them is called Wadi Rum, so I hope it means they have a bar!
My pins are older and stiffer, but my heart is still very much into the challenge of beating the miniumum target set by my chosen charity, Marie Curie Cancer Care. Your donations will fund the care of the terminally ill, and I wish to dedicate this challenge to the memory of my friend Anne Anscombe, who lost her long battle against malignant melanoma, in June 2010, aged 52.
My motivations are the same as in 2005, namely raising funds for a cause that I care about, and testing my own physical abilites. This time around, I shall be enduring two nights of sleeping under canvas, and I am sure that those of you who know me well, would want to pay good money to see that!.
