I am doing the Great North Swim on 5th September to raise money for Cancer Research UK.  I hate the cold, I hate swimming and I hate having to kick off my high heels and put on a really unflattering swim hat and wet suit.  I probably haven't practised enough, I know I have swallowed way too much lake water already.  This is a massive challenge for me, I have overcome a lot of fears and I am going to do my very best to get round the one mile course and raise much needed cash.  Cancer has affected lots of people in my family and I know how it can affect us all.  Please give whatever you can afford right now.
