Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I have worked with alot of the children whom have used Chestnut tree house and they all have touched my heart.

One of the children I have worked with was Liam and Liam touched my heart in a big way. This is his story from his lovely mum...

Liam was a young lad who had complex medical and physical needs. He used to be asleep a lot due to his medication he was on, but when it came to chocolate mousses he was wide awake and could tell the difference between a cheap shop brought one and a luxury one!!!

He used Chestnut tree house with his family and during one of their stays he was taken ill unexpectedly, he went to the local hospital where they sadly said that there was nothing else they could do for him.

Liam was transferred back to Chestnut tree house where he died peacefully in front of the TV doing hand and foot prints.

I loved reading Liam his bedtime stories and visiting Chestnut tree house with him where he could used their hydrotherapy pool and sensory room which he loved.

Another little lady I have worked with is Danielle she too has touched my heart. I loved taking her to the beach and playing at rockies most weekends. Occasionally I would look after Danielle and her siblings Shannon and keenan as well.

This story is from their lovely mum in her words.

Chestnut tree house have not only been able to give families respite care but for my family it gave hope.

My daughter Danielle has tuberous sclerosis and that means she has a life threatening, life limited condition which is devastating enough.

I also have two other children Shannon and keenan, what chestnut tree house did was give my family a place to meet other families in the same position, a place where mums and dads can relax whilst the children were having so much fun and getting the best medical help. For a while things felt normal.

The staff are all amazing and really listen you your needs and your child's. I can't thank them enough for Danielle. So please help raise what you can through Denise who knows my family and who has worked with my little girl and gave her so much kindness and a smile everytime she came in.

She has been a wonderful inspiration and I want to personally thank her for all she continues to do for us :-)
