Story

In the UK, 1 in 2 people will develop some form of cancer during their lifetime. Unfortunately, over the past few years I have had first hand experience of the effect that cancer can have on those diagnosed and those closest to them.

Cavendish Cancer Care is a local charity based in Sheffield who support not just patients, but anyone affected by cancer. They give them and their families the chance to talk in confidence and offer complementary therapies to help alleviate both the emotional strain of cancer, and the physical side effects of the illness and its treatment.

My employer, Powerstar are taking part in the Master Cutler's Challenge 2022 in aid of Cavendish Cancer Care and are trying to raise much as possible before the end of September.

On Sunday 11th September 2022 members of the challenge team and I will take on the Yorkshire Three Peak's Challenge. The Yorkshire Three Peaks route is 24 miles (38.6km), and includes 1585m (5200ft) of ascent.

Wish me luck, I’m going to need it!
