Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

I am running the Dublin City Marathon on the 30th of October, raising money for the Irish Pulmonary Hypertension Association. Money raised will be used for research into Raynaud's and Scleroderma (a rare, chronic disease of the immune system, blood vessels and connective tissue).

Mum was a long suffering Raynaud's patient developing Scleroderma 4 years before she passed away, aged 57. This terrible disease affected her quality of life dramatically which resulted in Mum spending at least 4 months a year of her final 4 years in hospital. Mum was fortunate enough to receive special medical equipment from this organisation avoiding the need to spend even more time in hospital, getting access to oxygen at home.

The money I am hoping to raise will help with research into these diseases supporting earlier diagnosis, investment in new medicines and equipment so that families like mine get to look after their loved ones closer to home.

Thank you for reading my story.
