Story
Namaste,
In April 2022 I will be starting my Everest Expedition and I am raising money for the NHS Charities Together , Colchester Hospital Charity and Children and Youth First (CYF) Nepal.
I am a registered nurse currently working as a bank staff in Colchester General Hospital. During the Pandemic period I have been working in the hospital to help my colleagues. I have witnessed how Covid-19 has affected my colleagues with their Mental health and how tough it has been for them. I have huge respect for all the healthcare staff who has worked tirelessly during this challenging times.
NHS Charities Together and Colchester Hospital Charity are recognising the importance of NHS staff and their Mental health wellbeing. They are supporting the NHS staff by using the money raised to fund counselling, services and helplines, training for volunteers, and providing spaces for exhausted staff to rest during busy shifts.
Children and Youth First (CYF) Nepal is a non-profit NGO in Kathmandu currently supporting 80 children. They believe in education for all and help children get access to education by providing a safe home and paid tuition who are not able to afford public school.
Previously I have climbed Mt. Aconcagua (6,961m, highest mountain in the South America) and Mt. Manaslu (8,163m, 8th highest mountain in the world) for personal interest; now I want to climb Everest with a purpose to help the NHS staff and children of Nepal.
Thank you and Happy New Year.
