Assalamualaikum,
We are so blessed to have access to clean water, but today there are more than 2.5 billion people without basic sanitation. In Bangladesh, 60% of people have to endure unsafe drinking water, and the contamination of groundwater is widespread. Without access to clean water and basic sanitation, diseases such as diarrhoea and cholera are prevalent. We can make change happen today.
It costs £1200 to build 1 deep water well in Bangladesh and I am aiming to raise £2400 to build 2 deep water wells in memory of my late grandfathers. This will support two villages in Bangladesh in areas needed the most.
A deep water well is installed near a masjid which can provide an entire community (anywhere from 250-500 people) to complete there wudhu whilst also giving access to clean water for drinking, washing and cooking, and to keep livestock hydrated. SubhanAllah, with two deep water wells, we will be making a difference in the lives of potentially 500-1000 people.
One water well will be in the name of Asad Uddin Ahmed and the second will be for Al Hajj Akin Ali insha'Allah. May Allah have mercy upon them and grant them the highest ranks of Jannah.
Sa‘d ibn ’Ubadah (ra) who said, ’I asked, “O Messenger of Allah! Which charity is best?” He [saw] replied, “Providing water”’. (Ibn Majah)
Any amount of donation will be appreciated. May you all be rewarded. Jazak'Allah Khair.
ZAKAT ELIGIBLE.
