In June last year, we went on a family, dog friendly holiday to Norfolk for the Jubilee weekend, which involved playing mini golf, walking on the beach, quiz nights and a lot of happiness altogether.

We returned home and my husband, Viral was complaining of a strange pain in his back.

Over the next 3 weeks, some scans and biopsies later, he was deteriorating and struggling to breathe.

We rushed him into hospital where he was admitted to ITU and passed away peacefully 4 days later surrounded by his family (and a special visit from Coco our dog a day earlier) - 3 days before his 66th birthday.

It was after his passing we received a phone call from the oncologist looking after my husband with a surprising revelation - the biopsy results had shown a high grade B cell lymphoma, suspected to be an aggressive subtype of a double/triple hit lymphoma.

Unfortunately this had progressed so rapidly that he didn't show any symptoms until it had invaded multiple organs by the time it was diagnosed, and at this point Viral was too weak to be able to tolerate any treatment options.

My husband did everything to make us happy. He put his family over himself all the time. He was full of love and joy, always making everyone laugh, however it was the simple pleasures he relished the most - particularly spending time with his family.

Sadly he didn't get to enjoy his retirement.
