Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
Myself & my sister Mary are doing the Cycle for Amy challenge in memory of Amy. We are doing the 50 mile route which is very hilly and takes us up to nearly 1700 ft for a swift one in the Cat & Fiddle.
Amy is a beautiful little girl who went to the same school as our children. She died from a cancerous brain tumour on 7th April 2012.
She was 10 years old.
Childflight is a charity that was close to Amy’s heart, Amy said she wanted to “Help all the poorly children”.
Childflight provides once in a life time holidays, flights for children to travel abroad for life saving treatment as well as providing memories that last a life time.
Childflight is a Manchester based charity and 99p in every pound raised goes straight into the pot. They achieve this because every member of the charity gives their time for free. These members include doctors and nurses as well as many other professions. This is how Amy became passionate about Childflight as her oncology nurse is one of the directors of the charity. Amy saw first hand how hard they work to make children smile even if just for a little while.
