Story
I am taking part in a very important cycle on the 11th of September for someone who invested a lot of time in me and others as a youth rugby coach, an all-round great guy, and an amazing club man for Ashbourne Rugby Club.
Declan Mahon lost his life because of Cancer during COVID which was hard with all the restrictions that were in place and we are embarking on a cycle to remember him calling around to all the rugby clubs in the North East which was Dec’s idea if we were to ever run a charity cycle again post-COVID.
The total route is nearly 200km with 35 cyclists sharing the cycle that he wanted to do. As a group, we would appreciate anything that you can donate to the Irish Cancer Society to support this great cycle to remember our good friend.
My employer will match all donations up to max €500 so please give whatever you can to help the Irish Cancer Society
