Story
In September 2015 I will be climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in aid of the Meningitis Research Foundation. There is no denying that the climb will be tough, but when signing up to take part in this challenge the climb barely crossed my mind. All I could think about was how on earth I was going to raise £3000 in well under a year?!
At first £3000 seemed like a step too far for me, but after learning more and more about MRF and the great work they do to save lives, the challenge suddenly became so much more approachable! I have always liked to push myself both mentally and physically, and I always thought that university would be the best environment in which to do so. I considered joining 1000s of societies and taking endless extra modules, but when I heard about this opportunity to help MRF to save lives, everything else just seemed pointless. The idea of really making a difference is, in my opinion, more rewarding than anything else.
Meningitis Research Foundation's vision is a world free of meningitis and septicaemia - two deadly diseases which can kill in hours. Unfortunately, small children and students are affected the most by this deadly disease. If you can donate anything, no matter how small your donation may be, you really would be helping to save lives. I will be keeping you all posted about my fundraising events throughout the year, and if you have any questions about the disease or the work of MRF, please don't hesitate to contact me, whether it be through facebook or anything else! :)
You can donate via my page, or by texting MRFW96 followed by £1, £2, £5 or £10 to 70070.
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page, and a bigger thank you to anyone that donates in anyway possible :)
