Story
Around 5 years ago , my Dad was diagnosed with an incurable lung disease called Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis ( IPF) . This was something we had never heard of but is a condition that scars the lungs and makes breathing increasingly difficult. Dad managed his condition with his usual good humour and spirit but his health deteriorated in late 2022 and he very sadly passed away in January 2023
I am running this marathon in his memory but just as importantly to try and raise some money towards research into IPF which remains an incurable condition. Dad received great care from his nursing and palliative team at St Thomas' Hospital London so it will be comforting to us as a family to raise funds so that other people with IPF can continue to get the best possible care and welfare in their final weeks
Thanks
