Story
I’m chucking the chocolate and going on a DECHOX for the whole of March to help the British Heart Foundation fund its life saving heart research. That means absolutely no chocolate bars, no chocolate cake, no choccy biscuits with my tea, not even any chocolate sprinkles on my cappuccino are allowed. And that’s why I need your help.
Cardiovascular disease causes an average of 425 deaths per day in the UK alone and is also the leading cause of death worldwide. The survival rate for cardiac arrests is a mere 1 in 10 - the British Heart Foundation's research is working towards increasing this survival rate and finding a cure for heart disease.
Most of us are massive chocoholics (me very much included) with £3.5 billion being spent on chocolate in the UK every year. Donating just £10 (the cost of a shop bought birthday cake) to this amazing charity instead of spending it on say a dozen chocolate bars will pay for all the necessary equipment required for a whole team of research scientists to use for an invaluable days work, alternatively it can pay for a story pack to help a child grieve for the loss of a loved one. £50 will fund a package of spare parts for the Call Push Rescue training kit, which will allow 100 people to learn CPR - an indispensable skill which saves numerous lives of cardiac arrest casualties every day.
So please, donate what you can, even £2 will make a massive difference
