"... I have, myself, full confidence that if all do their duty, if nothing is neglected, and if the best arrangements are made, as they are being made, we shall prove ourselves once again able to raise money for Prostate Cancer research, to ride out the storm of itchiness, and to outlast the look of poor grooming, if necessary for December, but also for the final week of Movember.
At any rate, that is what we are going to try to do. Not allow a razor to mount an offensive on our cheeks we will stand strong to raise our sponsorship money. That is the resolve of this band of brothers -every man of them.
Even though large tracts of Europe and many countries around the world are coming to the end of their Movember to raise money for the same good cause, we shall not flag or fail in our effort to raise more money in our month of December.
We shall go on to the end, we shall resist the itches, we shall ignore the looks of disdain at our poor grooming, we shall go forth with growing confidence and growing strength (and beards) in the air, we shall hold our heads high, whatever the cost may be, we shall fight on the bea(rd it)ches, we shall fight the Gillette adverts, we shall fight the urge to shave, we shall fight the need to be smooth cheeked; we shall never surrender, and even if, which I do not for a moment believe, some of our brothers fall on the way, then our remaining brothers will pick up the banner and carry on the struggle, until, in God's good time (23rd December), we can once again reach for the razor and fashion our unruly cheek hair to find one chosen by the many to be crowned Decembeard V site champion."
