Story
We are climbing the three highest peaks in Scotland, England and Wales in 24 hours to raise money for Debra.
DEBRA is a national charity and patient support group for people living with the rare, extremely painful, genetic skin blistering condition, Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB) also known as ‘Butterfly Skin’. EB causes the skin to become very fragile and tear or blister at the slightest touch. With your help we can find treatments and cure(s) for EB.
We are trying to promote the awareness of this horrific condition and raise funds for Debra's life free of pain appeal. https://www.debra.org.uk/a-life-free-of-pain.
As part of this appeal, DEBRA are working to raise funds for a drug repurposing programme which will involve testing drugs which already successfully treat other inflammatory skin conditions such as Psoriasis and Atopic Dermatitis. These drugs are already available within the NHS, and we believe they could be effective in slowing, stopping, or reversing, the progression of EB.
The impact this can make to someone living with EB's life is huge. Appreciate any sponsor in advance as every little makes a difference and helps us fund the research for new treatments and cures.
We will be doing the walk in memory of my cousin Adana Forsyth who we sadly lost to this heartbreaking condition.
