Thanks for visiting my Just Giving page. I am raising funds for St Michael's Hospice, Basingstoke. This is where I work as Bereavement Co-ordinator and we care for patients across North Hampshire who have a life-limiting illness. St Michael's Hospice make no charge for their services to families or their relations/visitors. The Hospice costs £3.3M to run each year with only 22% contribution from the local PCT. The rest needs to be fundraised by the likes of you and me. Please, are you able to help? As most of you know I suffered a Brain Tumour in 2009. This required a major operation and there was no guarantee the tumour was benign. This was a very dark time in my life. I felt fear like I've never known before, and the anxiety was extreme. It was not until 2 weeks after the operation that we received definite confirmation that the tumour was not cancerous. Naturally we rejoiced in the news and I was able to give thanks to my living Lord who I believe sustained me throughout. However, my thoughts went almost immediately to those I know and cared about at St Michael's. Just imagine, had the news been different, how I would be feeling? This is what our patients experience upon receiving their diagnosis. My heart goes out to them - imagine how it must feel to have all your plans halted, to effectively be told you have no future? So if you are able, please give generously - I can guarantee every penny will be put to good use. I witness that daily, first hand. Thanks for reading. Debs xxxx
